— 世々の道をそむく事なし
不违世世常道
Never defy the timeless Way
— にたのしみをたくまず
于身,不巧求享乐
Don't devise pleasures for yourself
— よろすに依枯の心なし
万事无偏颇
Never depend on a partial feeling
— 身をあさく思世をふかく思ふ
轻己而重世
Think lightly of yourself and deeply of the world
— 一生の間よくしん思わず
一生不思欲心
Don't attach to desire for your whole life time
— 我事におゐて後悔をせず
自身之事皆不悔
Don't regret what you have done
— 善惡に他をねたむ心なし
于善于恶,皆无嫉妒
Never harbor envy, either for the good or for the evil
— いつれの道にもわかれをかなしまず
诸道有别,皆不为悲
Don't grieve over separations on any path
— 自他共にうらみかこつ心なし
己事、他事,皆无抱怨
Never harbor a mind of resentful complaint
— れんほの道思ひよるこゝろなし
无耽于恋慕
Never possess a mind that leans toward lust
— 物毎にすきこのむ事なし
诸事无预期
Never have preferences in anything
— 私宅におゐてのそむ心なし
于己宅,无所求之心
Never harbor desire for where you live
— 身ひとつに美食をこのまず
于独身,不好美食
Don't prefer good food for the body alone
— 末々代物なる古き道具を所持せず
不持为后世之古物
Don't possess old tools for the distant future
— わか身にいたり物いみする事なし
于己身,无遵物忌
Never follow taboos regarding your own body
— 兵具は格別よの道具たしなまず
兵器为殊,此外不嗜他物
Except for weapons, don't have fondness for tools
— 道におゐては死をいとわず思ふ
于道,心无恶死
As for the Way, don't fear death
— 老身に財寳所領もちゆる心なし
老年不持身外之物
Never seek wealth or territory in old age
— 佛神は貴し佛神をたのまず
尊佛神而不恃之
Revere the Buddhas without counting on them
— 身を捨ても名利はすてず
宁为玉碎,不为瓦全
Death before dishonor
— 常に兵法の道をはなれず
时刻不离兵法之道
Always, don't stray from the Way of Hyōhō
